Two high-yield webinars this weekend 🩺

Paediatrics is one of the most heavily tested topics in the PLAB 1 exam, so we’ve split this large topic into two separate focused webinars to make revision clearer, more structured, and easier to retain.

📅 Saturday, 16th May 2026 (9 AM – 11 AM UK time)

Babies in PLAB

Focused on neonatal and infant topics including milestones, feeding issues, vaccinations, and more.

📅 Sunday, 17th May 2026 (9 AM – 11 AM UK time)

Children in PLAB

Focused on toddlers and older children, including emergencies, infections, respiratory conditions, fluid management, and other key paediatric topics.

Both webinars will be hosted by Dr Dominic Carr and are designed to help simplify challenging paediatric questions commonly seen in the PLAB 1 exam.

⚠️ Please note: these are two separate webinars and require separate registrations.

Spaces are limited, so please register early if you would like to attend.

  • A structured neurology-style approach to differential diagnosis

  • Techniques to improve clinical decision-making in difficult exam scenarios

  • Evidence-based revision and exam preparation strategies

  • Practical methods to improve retention, understanding, and question interpretation under time pressure

Designed to simplify complex thinking patterns and help you approach challenging PLAB questions with greater clarity and structure.

There has recently been a change to the licensed duration of Nexplanon in the UK. Previously, Nexplanon was licensed for 3 years of contraceptive use, which is what many older guidelines, textbooks, and exam questions still refer to. In 2026 May, the College of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (CoSRH) updated its guidance to reflect that Nexplanon can now be used for up to 5 years for contraception. This change is unlikely to affect the correct answers to any exam questions, but we have updated our explanations to reflect the newer guidance update.

We’ll be covering a lot of material, including genetics, so I want to make sure we’re all up to speed on the basics. If genetics isn't your strong suit, I’d recommend going over the "Genetics (Basics) Gems" beforehand to help keep up with the pace. If you don’t have access to that, make sure to check out the "Genetics - The VERY Basics" guide. Our genetic lecture is today, so you've got just around 2 hours to read up on genetics.

If you are sitting the PLAB 1 exam on 21st of May 2026, start doing the timed mocks (not the Big Mocks yet).

Above 85% in Timed Mocks: Congratulations! You're steering in the right direction.

70% to 85% in Timed Mocks: Good job! Practice more. Most candidates sit around this mark at this stage (2 weeks before the exam). Consider our 4-day revision course as you would likely benefit. Aim to raise your score above 85%.

60% to 70% in Timed Mocks: This is your wake-up call to double down on your preparation. The 4-day revision course is built to give you those few extra marks for your exam to get you from a fail to a pass.

Below 60% in Timed Mocks: You can still make it, but it will take a lot of hard work. If you are not confident you can put that work in, it may be worth considering rebooking the exam.
